About the Artwork
Located in Rathfarnaham, this is the second piece I did as part of the Dublin Canvas Project back in 2020. I was inspired by both the area itself and what was going on in the world. Millions of older vunerable people had been isolating from their families for months at this point and I personally really missed my Nana. After visiting her in her front garden (she was locked away in the porch) I was driving home and saw Rathfarnham castle. I remembered thinking the castle looked like a princess castle as a child and noticed the popular tea rooms in it’s grounds. From here the idea crystalised to create something cheery and beautiful that could be enjoyed by every generation who passed it.
